Waste Control Services is looking for a Heavy Duty/Commercial Transport Mechanic to join our team. We are looking for someone to join our preventative maintenance facility and our growing fleet. This will include carrying out diagnostic tests and repairs to a variety of vehicles and equipment.

Job Duties

  • Perform troubleshooting of entire fleet vehicles and body builder equipment
  • Perform test drives to adequately service the fleet
  • Perform road service calls and diagnosis
  • Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services

Summary: The Yard Operator main duties will be to work at our North Vancouver recycling yard. Duties will include all facets of handling recycling materials. Duties will also include swamping on our recycling trucks when called upon.

  • Recycling materials – Baling plastics, Shredding paper, Densifying styrofoam, sorting, dumping, organizing materials
  • Bin Maintenance – Power-washing, Labeling, Fabricating, Organizing bins
  • Shipping & Receiving – Unload and load incoming and outgoing trucks for materials and supplies. All tare tickets and packing slips to be filled out and handed to the office.
  • Weight Reporting – Scale designated incoming material, record and report to office staff
  • Maintain Cleanliness – Inside and outside areas, equipment. Report any issues to Lead Hand.
  • Customer interaction – Greet, instruct and educate incoming residential and ICI customers.
  • Swamper – swamping on our municipal and commercial routes, as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time with regular bending and lifting sometimes loads up to 50lbs.
