OVERVIEW OF WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Waste Control Services is looking for an experienced sales professional to focus on revenue growth for our front load, roll off, and low pro services for solid waste, organics, and recycling collection and disposal within the Commercial, Multi-Family Residential, Hospitality, Industrial, and Institutional market segments. You will accomplish this through prospecting for new business opportunities, while also driving the development, expansion, and retention of our current business within an assigned customer base.

You should be committed to providing our prospects and customers with exceptional service while creatively and relentlessly pursuing new business opportunities. We are looking for someone who can bring their passion, expertise, and innovation to our company. You will maintain a thorough knowledge of the Company’s available services, lines of business, and pricing structures, and will work in conjunction with other Sales personnel in circumstances where the need arises.

DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE:

In this position, you will be responsible for meeting and exceeding sales targets through the attainment of new business, increased revenue from existing accounts, and account retention. In addition to signing new customers, another primary focus is providing exceptional ongoing service through follow up on customer requests and concerns. You will be your customers’ waste management expert consultant.

Activities that are a regular part of the role:

· Prospecting, cold calling, and preparing and presenting quotes to obtain new business

· Coordinating with the Operations team regarding new customer site checks, container specifications, and service optimization

· Providing after-sale care and customer service for both new and assigned existing accounts within the territory

· Managing existing accounts to adjust their service levels and pricing as needed in order to ensure account retention, as well as ongoing profitability for WCS

· Meeting regularly with your Sales Manager to review your sales pipeline activity, as well as your customer relationship and retention activities

· Continuously learning and carrying out market analysis on the industry and our competitors in order to develop unique service options and profitable pricing structures for WCS’s customers

· Working closely and collaboratively with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction and process efficiency

· Working with your Sales team colleagues to assist one another through sharing information and collaborating on strategy with the purpose of achieving common Company goals

· Other duties as assigned

· Experience in the waste management services industry

Position: Dispatcher (4am to 1230pm)

Location: Coquitlam, BC

Schedule: Monday to Friday, Full-time, 4:00am - 12:30pm

The Coquitlam Dispatcher is a permanent, full-time position. Hours of work are 4:00 am to 12:30pm, typically Monday to Friday with requirements to cover some weekends and Statutory Holidays.

Summary: The Dispatcher works in a diverse, fast paced position that performs a significant and broad scope of coverage within the Operations Department. In this position you will handle incoming calls regarding service issues and scheduling requests while advising drivers on the day to day work they complete. This individual must maintain customer relations to the highest standard with highly developed interpersonal skills and be able to deliver clear, concise direction to drivers who call in for assistance while completing their routes.

Dispatch job functions are the primary requirement in this role, answering the company radio, directing drivers to disposal facilities and customer locations while assisting them to perform their routes in an efficient manner. Working in a team environment will require you to learn aspects of your co-worker’s job functions to enable you to provide coverage on occasional weekends and statutory holidays. This position reports to the Operations Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Primary person for answering the Fleet Radio
  • Troubleshooting on the spot issues with Drivers
  • Entering, Routing & Sequencing calls into the appropriate routes
  • Reviewing of drivers Route Sheets at the end of day
  • Reviewing that tablet routes are logged out correctly
  • Updating Customer & Route Information in Trux as required
  • Answering customer calls
  • Calling customers regarding operational issues such as, call aheads and access issues
  • Scheduling & printing all Route Sheets with correct information
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role-preferred but not mandatory
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills-required
  • Able to remain calm while working within tight timelines
  • Strongly proficient in Microsoft suite and experience working with database programs-preferred

Position: General Labourer (NZW Eastgate)

Location: Eastgate, British Columbia, Canada

Company Information

Net Zero Waste Eastgate Ltd. is an organics processing company committed to use composting technology for cleaner, greener communities and to working with communities in a unified direction towards a Zero Waste goal.  Our facility accepts organic waste from a wide variety of sources and produces a Class A Compost which can be used as a soil amendment to improve yields and plant health in applications ranging from farms to golf courses.

We are looking for a General Labourer position.  This position is ideal for an applicant who wishes to gain more experience operating equipment, working in an industrial and/or waste processing facility, enjoys working outdoors and working on multiple types of tasks.

Flexible shifts are available for the right applicant, and we are accepting applications for full- and part-time shifts.

  1. General job description
  • The General Labourer position is responsible for providing support to equipment operators and site management to keep the processes of the site running and productive.
  • The position is responsible for the upkeep of site grounds and plant operational areas, as well as maintaining and cleaning site equipment.
  • The selected candidate must be willing to get dirty to help in the replacement of parts and site cleaning of small areas that are not reachable using the larger equipment.
  • The General Labourer is key member of the team and will be trained on the site heavy equipment. This will include front end loader and excavator.

Position: Residential Recycling Driver

Location: Coquitlam, BC

Schedule: Monday to Friday, Full-time, Permanent

Waste Control Services has added single family residential recycling services to the District of West Vancouver (DWV). We are seeking one Class 5 driver w/air endorsement and experience to join our team of operators currently performing the waste & green waste services in the DWV.

Recycling services will consist of collecting 3 streams of material: Mixed Paper, Mixed Containers, & Glass. Drivers will manually toss recycling into the Labrie Xpert 3-compartment compacting trucks. Drivers will perform right side drive, stopping and starting at each household (approx. 400 households per day). This position works a 4 x 10 or 5 x 8 work schedule Monday – Friday.

This position is very demanding and is not for the physically faint of heart. You are sole person that is in/out of a right hand drive truck 400 times a day – so you need to be physically willing and able to perform the task at hand. It takes a ‘special breed’ of worker to be successful at this role. Please show us on your resume the proven, intense physical work you have performed in the past.

The primary responsibility of our Drivers is to complete the routes in a skillful and safe manner.

Requirements:

  • Class 5 drivers license with air endorsement with willingness or interest to attain Class 3 w/air
  • Two years of experience in the waste management industry driving Residential Side Load vehicles is considered a strong asset
  • Driver’s abstract that meets with WCS standards
  • Ability to work in all-weather environment while maintaining a positive and respectful communication with residents
  • Endurance and desire to perform physically demanding work
