Position: Front Load Driver (Class 3 w/ air)

Location: Coquitlam, BC

Schedule: Full time - Permanent

Overview of who we are looking for:

We are searching for one Full-time Class 3 Driver (air endorsement required). At this time, we are seeking an individual who brings Waste Industry front load driving experience.This position will work in our Commercial Division. This position is a ‘floater’ position covering for those off on vacation, sick or helping with missed pick-ups. The position works Monday to Friday with daily overtime (2-3 hours) and very occasional weekend work.

Responsibilities:

  • Strong verbal communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Strong knowledge of Metro Vancouver roadways a definite asset
  • Ability to perform very physically demanding job (pushing and pulling hundreds of pound bins 60-80 times/daily)
  • Perform daily Pre & Post trip inspections

Overview of who we are looking for:

Waste Control Services is looking for an experienced Sales Manager to lead a mature sales team and focus on revenue growth through the development and expansion of current business, locating new business opportunities as well as protecting WCS’s current customer base.

Our sales team consists of passionate and driven sales professionals who understand how to manage and divert waste materials. They focus on building partnerships with our customers and building sustainable, long term service programs.

You should be able to demonstrate previous success at managing a sales team with many leads and customer service activities. You will be comfortable within an environment where personal performance is critical and will have the flexibility and determination to participate in any activity to ensure success. You should be committed to providing the sales team and customers with exceptional service while creatively and relentlessly driving revenue growth. We are looking for someone that can bring their passion, expertise and innovation to our company.

Required skills and experience:

Experience

  • Experienced in obtaining profitable results with a sales team by developing the team through leadership, motivation, coaching, evolving skill sets and product knowledge development.
  • Have previously managed in a sales administration and operational cross-function environment, developed plans to streamline processes and systems, and advised senior management on how to improve business relationships while creating an environment where customer service can flourish.
  • Understand how to monitor and coach the performance of a sales team by utilizing various sales and revenue reports, holding monthly sales meetings, and offering one-on-one sessions and ongoing training.
  • Experienced in issuing performance appraisal systems which set expected performance standards, company core competencies and values, as well as sales target achievements. Seasoned in coaching and developing these types of factors through performance improvement plans.
  • Practiced in observing the performance of account managers, in the field, on a regular basis and providing feedback that will enhance and enable them to grow as sales professionals.
  • Accountable to WCS organizational goals which include, revenue growth, profitability, minimal attrition, employee retention, and customer service standards.
  • Experience with contract negotiations, and upholding contractual, legal obligations. Participated in quoting, specification review, and negotiation of prospective sales agreements.
  • Ability to handle customer service escalations and work to solve problems that may include operational, financial and contractual challenges.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; business, and or leadership preferred.
  • Three to five years in a sales management role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ability to problem solve.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong human relations skills and familiar with modern human resource practices.
