On Sunday May 1, WCS helped support the Vancouver International Marathon in managing the generated waste, organics, and recycling from the day’s event. We had two teams, one for the half marathon and one for the full marathon. Both teams followed behind collecting all the discarded materials from both the runners and the spectators. The start and finish lines were also covered. There was a record number of people at this years marathon, and a record amount of material was generated. WCS is proud to have diverted over 95% of the material, a total of over 8,000 pounds of organics, plastics and fibers!
