22nd Annual Santa Shuffle 2012 – Vancouevr

December 1, 2012 : The 22nd Annual Santa Shuffle at Lumberman’s Arch in Stanley Park.
Despite the typical Vancouver weather, the annual Santa Shuffle was in full effect this year in support of local families.

The event supported a 5KM run and a 1KM walk to collect pledges to assist families during the holidays.

The day started off with some cloudy skies, as the runners and walkers warmed up to some great music.  With the rain holding off, just long enough that the participants were able to finish the race, and warm up with some tasty chilly and hot chocolate.  Even Mr. and Mrs. Clause made it out for some pictures and to greet the racers!

There was even a bit of rivalry going on with two employees from opposite divisions, unfortunately George from the North Vancouver location won the race by mirror seconds.  Although Preet from the Burnaby location stopped to take some pictures, it was still a close call.

Shelley and her husband Darren, who took part in the walk section decided to run a bit to catch up with those who were ahead of them.

Regardless of our slightly competitive nature it was a great day.

Waste Control Services and Recycling would like to thank the Salvation Army for letting us be a part of a great cause!
