Position: Front Load Driver - Class 3

Location: Coquitlam, BC

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Overview of who we are looking for:

WCS is looking for a full time class 3 (air endorsement required) driver, preferably with experience in our industry. The driver’s daily objective will be to safely complete designated collection routes in our Front Load vehicles.

 Responsibilities:

  • Class 3 with air endorsement
  • Strong knowledge of Metro Vancouver roadways
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Able to perform physically demanding job
  • Capable of performing daily pre & post trip inspections

Position: Heavy Duty Mechanic

Overview of who we are looking for:
As a member of our Team of Red Seal Mechanics, you are responsible for performing repairs and providing preventative maintenance on a variety of fleet vehicles in an environment focused on safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preforming mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and complete repairs
  • Proficient with electronic diagnostics
  • Respond to service calls
  • Background to include working with hydraulics, air brakes, clutches, transmissions, heavy duty diesel engines

Job Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Heavy Equipment Shop
  • CVI certification is preferred
  • Class 3 driver’s license with air endorsement would be an asset
  • Red Seal Certification is required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess a commitment to delivering excellent customer service
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

Position: HR Generalist

Location: Coquitlam, BC

Overview of who we are looking for:

The HR Generalist is responsible for providing support to our employees; developing, implementing and managing HR initiatives. The incumbent counsels all levels of Management regarding legislation, best practices and risk management.  The position is based in Coquitlam, however, the incumbent also supports our employees in North Vancouver. The HR Generalist will report to the HR Manager during an extended transition period at which point the HR Generalist will assume all HR responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead role in full-cycle recruitment process
    • Revise or develop job descriptions, as required
    • Provide Managers with guidance on duties, reporting, compensation, etc.
  • Coordinate new employee orientation, working to accelerate new hire socialization
  • Support employees and their managers in day to day employment related matters
  • Manage the employee benefits program
  • Lead role in the Performance Management process
  • In conjunction with Managers, identify training required to bridge performance gaps; source and recommend options
  • Provide recommendations to Managers in the annual compensation review and coordinate the process
  • In conjunction with members of the Health & Safety Committee, participate in the design and implementation of Health & Safety initiatives to ensure compliance with legislation and our commitment to Workplace Safety.
  • Maintain employee files, ensuring appropriate content

Job Requirements:

  • CPHR
  • Post- secondary education preferred
  • Minimum of five years related experience with progression in the field of HR
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of HR principles, concepts, methods and best practices
  • Self-starter with ability to resolve issues and problems
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work
  • Proven track record of responsiveness and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer skills
  • Experience in a light industrial setting considered an asset
  • Strong ethics and regard for privacy and confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal, management and strategic thinking skills

Position: Welder, Container Maintenance

Overview of who we are looking for:

W.C.S. is seeking an experienced Welder to join our growing team in our Container Maintenance Department.  This individual will be hard working, self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal Supervision. Work includes the traditional fabricating shop duties such as fit up, prep, cutting and welding.

Responsibilities:

  • Previous welding experience
  • Good cutting / fitting skills
  • Desire to learn
  • Demonstrate good quality and work pace
  • Level 1 first aid is an asset

Job Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience with air & power tools
  • Driver’s license
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to safety procedures
